Leti Garcia's Dream has come true! Leti Garcia is the cleaning lady at a local church in Phoenix; when she was hired as a cleaning lady in 2004, she spoke very little and poor English. She cleaned, cleaned and cleaned; she was a very hard worker who you may have seen volunteering for events at the church. She is quiet and shy, she also has 3 generations of family members living under 1 roof. The family migrated to America, like many, to try to catch the "American dream". Arizona Helping Hands paid her college to teach her and her husband, ELL (English as a Learned Language). She can speak, understand and write in English and now.....and was hired in a management position to replace an outgoing employee. All of her family members are celebrating this huge achievement and when you see Lety be sure to tell her how proud you are of her accomplishment. Most of all....her dream came true! You can find Lety easy these days. She is the one grinning from ear to ear as she does her work quietly. Give someone a fish....teach someone to fish. Together we can make a difference! |
